Jakson Power plans 100 MW of solar power capacity

Jakson Power Solutions, which today inaugurated its first 20 MW solar power plant in Rajathan, says it plans to build up its solar power capacity to 100 MW over the next three years.
The company has also acquired 250 acres of additional land at the same site for developing solar farms and plans to scale up the capacity to 100 MW in next 3 years, says a press release from Jakson.
The 20 MW plant was won through a competitive bidding process under the Phase I Batch II of the National Solar Mission. Jakson won the project quoting a tariff of Rs 8.61 per kWhr.
Under the second batch of the first phase of the Mission, 340 MW of solar projects were awarded. The state-owned NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam Ltd (NVVM) would buy power produced by these solar plants at tariffs quoted by winning bidders.
Jakson Power Solutions is also into building solar power plants for other companies and has orders worth 40 MW on hand, the release says.

India’s Largest Solar EPC-Developers-Financier Meet Chennai, March 22nd

Solar EPC or Developer? Be at Chennai on Mar 22.

EAI is organizing the second edition of the Solar EPC-Developers-Financiers Networking, Mar22, Le Meridien Hotel, Chennai

This networking meet, which has a unique focus on networking and interactions (six out of seven hours will only be on networking, just one hour of presentations), will have over 400 prominent EPCs, investors and developers.
Whether you are an EPC or Developer, this will be a critical meet.

EPC – With over 100 developers or prospective developers of rooftop and grid connected power plants expected, the business development opportunities are enormous

Developer – You get to meet many high quality EPCs. This will help you identify the right one for your power plant. Your interactions will also lead to a rich understanding of the dos-and-donts for solar PV power plants.
The first edition of the program was a big success,

We expect the second version to be a much bigger success, as we will be incorporating a number of improvements in this. In addition, there will be participation from a larger geographic region, and we expect in all over 400 high profile delegates, making it India’s largest such networking dedicated meet ever.
If you are in the solar PV industry, this is an important opportunity not to be missed.

AP receives over 180 bids for solar PV projects

The Andhra Pradesh Government has received more than 180 bids for setting up solar photovoltaic power plants in the State.
On the extended date for solar bids, which ended at 3 p.m. on Saturday, it is learnt that the response was good.
However, details of the participants and the prices they have quoted, will be known later when the bid documents submitted by the participants are scrutinised.
The price quotes will be known on March 1 when the bids are processed. There was indication that the bids could be for projects with total capacity of about 900 MW.
Following on the State Government solar policy, AP Transco, which was appointed the nodal agency for the solar photovoltaic power project implementation, had invited bids to set up a capacity of about 1,000 MW in the State.
It is proposed to set up these power projects within one year.
With the current process under way for setting up solar PV plants in the State, Andhra Pradesh joins some select State Governments who have sought to attract private sector participation in tapping solar power.
Already Gujarat, Rajasthan are among States who have made big strides and Tamil Nadu recently joined the fray in promoting solar PV projects.
These State initiatives are strengthening the country’s Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission in setting up solar PV projects.

Country's biggest solar power plant to be set up in MP

BHOPAL: Country's biggest solar power plant to generate 130 MW electricity would be set up in Neemuch in Madhya Pradesh. The ambitious project cleared by departmental advisory committee of the State department New and Renewable Energy, according to press release here on Tuesday.
1,000 acre land has been earmarked for the plant in Neemuch district. Renewable energy accounts for just five per cent in total energy generation in Madhya Pradesh. At present, work is underway for 311 MW solar power projects in the state.
New and Renewable Energy department officials said that as much as 460 MW solar power will be generated by March 2014 and they are targeting 2500 MW solar power generation in the state in next two years.
Large-scale generation will increase renewal energy generation's share in total energy generation that will go up from 5% to 19%.

Kiran Energy commissions 55 MW solar plant in Rajasthan

Kiran Energy today announced that it has commissioned a 55 MW DC solar voltaic power project in Rawra village of Jodhpur district of Rajasthan. With this, Kiran Energy’s portfolio of solar projects in the country totals 80 MW.
The company is also building clusters of solar projects in several States, including Maharashtra, Gujarat, Karnataka, Rajasthan and Tamil Nadu. These clusters will have projects of capacities between 50 MW and 100 MW, Kiran Energy said in a press release.
L&T and Mahindra EPC did the ‘engineering, procurement and construction’ work for the 55 MW Rawra plant.
The 55 MW capacity is really three separate projects, with separate power purchase agreements with NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam (NVVN), a power-trading subsidiary of NTPC. These projects were won under the second batch of Phase I of the Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission.
Kiran Energy now operates the largest solar power plant cluster of 60MW with a combined evacuation at a single location in India, the release says.
The plant is expected to produce an average of more than 90,000 megawatt-hours of clean electricity per year, equivalent to the annual electricity needs of more than 2.75 lakh Indian households, reducing carbon emissions to the extent of 80,000 tonnes annually.
Kiran Energy is one of the leading clean energy utilities that has been developing and operating solar power projects across India. In Rajasthan and Gujarat, it now operates an aggregate of over 80MW power plants.
