Gujarat accounts for close to 58 per cent of the country's total solar power output of 1190 MW, followed byRajasthan with nearly 17 per cent. Rest are way behind. But thanks to Renewable Purchase Obligation(RPO) targets specified by state electricity regulatory commissions, state governments are coming out with schemes to promote solar power generation in a big way.
