Lanco Inaugurates 10.50 MW Solar Power Plant in Punjab

Lanco Group subsidiary Omega Solar Projects today inaugurated a 10.50 MW solar power plant here. 

The project has been set up at a cost of Rs 84 crore over 45 acres of land, according to an official release. 

New & Renewable Energy Minister Majithia said the tiny steps started three years ago in renewable energy sector have now become giant leaps with world renowned solar power companies investing liberally in the state, keeping in view its progressive and investor friendly approach. 

He said major solar power developers like Lanco, Solairedirect and Acme have come to Punjab. 

Majithia said Acme Group is all set to operationalize their 100 MW solar projects in district Mansa by March, 2016 and French solar giant 'Solairedirect' will add 54 MW in its present capacity of 34 MW solar power in district Fazilka. 

He said Punjab is all set to operationalise 500 MW solar power projects by March, 2016 and with finalization of two more schemes for farmers and major solar companies, the target is to achieve 1,000 MW solar power generation by March, 2017
